The roots of Bulova began to as early as 1875, when a 23-year-old man by the name of Joseph Bulova, an immigrant in New York City decided to run a small jewelry shop. During that period, no watches are still being displayed on his shop. It took a very long time about 44 years after its opening when Joseph established the first plant of the Bulova Company, during that year (1919) he decided to launch the very first Bulova creations – Bulova men’s watches. To his amazement, his first line of watches were warmly appreciated by the consuming public and proved that the first launch of watches by Bulova was a tremendous success. And because of the very warm favorable reception it received from the public, in 1924 he decided to unveil another set of finely created watches – Bulova women watch. This marked the unleashing of different types of Bulova watches and the start of the label Bulova, being referred to as one of the most high-status labels in the industry of watches.
One of the most popular creations of the company was the jeweled wristwatches both available in Bulova women and men’s watches. To date back, it was the WW I soldiers who first used Bulova watches consequently, during the WW II, Bulova together with the American government strived to provide soldiers with especially-designed Bulova men’s watches particularly chronograph watch created in more innovative technology and design.

Before the creation and launching of new Bulova women watches, the Accutron, designed to use tuning fork technology was launched by Bulova. The watch was used for the Apollo Expedition and was also chosen by the Air Force One in 1967.
The Satellite Clock by Bulova was presented in 1968 and rank as the first public clock worldwide to display time using the signals coming from the circumnavigating satellites. This was installed in the highest skyscraper in Mexico. Moreover, Caravelle by Bulova, another Bulova women timepiece became the best-selling jeweled watches in the United States during the year 1968.

It was also during this year, when Bulova acquired the Harley Davidson watch licenses and the Wittnauer trademark. The following year, the company claimed the assets of Heirloom and opened their headquarters in Fribourg, Switzerland simultaneously producing their European Collection by Bulova, which was later released on the 1st of January, 2003.
