Because of Joseph Celestin Baume’s desire to spread the word about their finely designed and styled watches, he decided to head to England in 1844, with the goal of establishing business contact there. Baume et Mercier Watches- The Meeting that Started its Birth
The Baume family company continued to strive in producing watches and their search for a route to display the proof of their dedication and mechanical excellence reap rewards when one of its timepieces won in the timing competitions held at the Kew-Teddington Observatory during the year 1893. 19 years after, William Baume met Paul Mercier at the Geneva Watch and Jewelry shop and they agreed to make a partnership that was formally signed on the 26th of November, 1918.
